BOM BOM BOM! [05 Aug 2005|12:09am] [ music | We're Not Gonna Take It / Twisted Sister ] Spent the day in DC today, that was fun. My dad went on the radio so my mom and my sister and I went to union station and I got starbucks (otakon has officially begun now) and the new issue of Spin magazine, but I left the issue of Spin at XM when we got back but it was all good because Michelle is putting it in safekeeping for me yay. And then we went to the nats game, which was cool because our seats were DEAD in center field so we could see all the action and espicially when people were knocking the ball out of the park, we could see if it went over the fence or not and thats always important. Also, people from XM were there in the same block (because its the XM radio block, of course) and I saw Jack The Intern and Jerimiah aka J-Dawg and the funny chubby guy from the spanish MLB station. Before the game, I actually won an XM radio, which was funny and ironic and...funny. I spun the wheel and it landed on "grand prize" and I'm standing there like "wtf, you have GOT to be kidding me" but I got one of the middle of the road models, but I'm gonna give it to my grandpa because my mom's been wanting to get one for him but hasn't gotten around to it. Also, I'd have to pay for the subscription fee, and I don't feel like doing that, aha. During the game they played the song "sweet caroline" and the whole stadium sang with it, espicially for "sweeeet caroline! BOM BOM BOM! good times never felt so good! SO GOOD! SO GOOD! SO GOOD!" It reminded me of when I went to Casey's wedding and we were all drunk and dancing around and singing that same song and my cousins almost threw me into a table but thats all good. Anyway, they faded the song out right before the second chorus, and people kept singing through the first line of the chorus which was funny to hear. Aaaaand then I came home. [02 Aug 2005|02:42pm] Went to Six Flags yesterday, now I'm not as pale as I was before (but I'm still not tan). It was fun, the new Tornado thing in the water park is SO MUCH FUN. You go down into a little tunnel and then you pretty much go straight down into the funnel and you go WOOSH up the side. SO MUCH FUN OMG. I have to work today, I don't really want to because I'm too lazy. I think I'm gonna buy a recorder (those plastic flute/clarinet type things). I'm gonna teach myself stuff. Ohyes. And then I'll be a total dork and take it to otakon and play Zelda and Fire Emblem stuff. Speaking of Fire Emblem, I figured out half of the main theme WITHOUT EVEN LISTENING TO IT. I need a life. Otakon ramblings. [27 Jul 2005|04:30pm] Just in case anyone feels like stalking me... Where I'll be staying: Radisson. With whom: DiFWies + Andy, who will be made an honorary DFW member just because he's stuck with us. What days: Thursday through Sunday, meaning Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. Cosplay?: Erk, from Fire Emblem. For the whole con. I might change into either Jyou or Koushiro (Digimon 02) for pictures with the DiFWies though. Wandering around the con with: Eddie + roommates, probably, along with other people who feel like stalking me. Anything extra: No competitions, but I will have my guitar with me during the later hours, and I promised to play Zelda tunes at the respective photoshoot on friday at 4. Thursday wanderings?: Probably with DFW for the day, then pre-reg pickup, and then hang out and watch TV and do silly things in the hotel room. Um. Hm. If anyone wants my cell phone number for the con, leave me a comment or IM me on Cynical Erk so I can get it to you. For all DFW members: Room rules! (Feel free to add/modify to these if you want.) 1. If you snore, you will be given one gentle warning and be told to try and stop. If you continue, I will beat you and you will sleep in the tub. 2. Clean up after yourself. We don't want the hotel staff angry at us, they have enough issues being that the whole hotel is sold out for the con. So no giant pyramids of coke cans, please. 3. Respect other people's belongings. No going through other's bags/purchases unless they give you permission. 4. Being that we have two rooms, we have two bathrooms, so everybody will shower/take a bath once a day. Half will take one before leaving to go to the con in the morning, the other half at night before bed. Or you can come back during the day and do it, whatever, just make sure you don't start to smell really bad. 5. Alarms will be set for 7:30 every morning in order to provide sufficent time to shower/eat/get dressed/be awake enough for the con. 6. Only DFW members (and Andy) will be allowed in the rooms. If you want to bring someone else, contact Jonath/Cari/the rest of DFW first and explain exactly what you'll be doing. **7. We will all meet up at 1:45am at the end of each con day in order to walk back to the hotel as a group. Nobody should be walking to and from alone, even during the daytime, because otakon attracts a lot of panhandlers and those are best avoided in large groups. **Addendum to rule 7: If for whatever reason anyone has to leave the con BEFORE 1:45 due to fatigue, illness, taking a package back to the room, whatever, you must have at least ONE person with you, and at least one other DiFWy at the con must know that you have gone.
